CfKK wants to achieve its objectives by offering assistance in a small-scale manner. Through direct communication that is far from bureaucratic, assistance is provided directly to the children's department at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo in Pristina. This method is efficient, economical and effective.
In achieving its mission, Care for Kosovo Kids is guided by three principles:
All initiatives are small scale and fully overseeable. Only verifiable, practical and meaningful projects that are clearly defined in terms of budget, schedule and staffing needs are considered. The primary objective is always to cure cancer in children in Kosovo.
CfKK applies strict standards for the provision of medication and tube feeding.
If there is an element of doubt, the case is discussed with the family doctors and Paediatric Oncologist on the Foundation’s management board. The allocation process is conducted in accordance with protocols agreed by all physicians involved.
CfKK works primarily with volunteers. The Foundation employs a Liaison and Office Manager in Kosovo.
Adherence to these principles enables the Foundation to operate efficiently and arrange inexpensive medical care. The projects funded by the Foundation are effective and accountability is ensured.
